MTTP-004 (Sindhi-Hindi-Sindhi Anuvaad Pariyojana) is the translation project course of the IGNOU Post Graduate Diploma in Sindhi-Hindi-Sindhi Translation (PGDSHST). It carries 6 credits. The programme has a second project course, MTTP-005 (Hindi-Sindhi-Hindi), so check carefully which one is printed in your own programme guide. The work usually runs in two parts: a proposal that is approved first, and then the translation project based on it.

Who can be your MTTP-004 guide?
The guide eligibility for this translation project is set in the official project guideline, and we have not quoted it here because it may change. In IGNOU projects the guide is normally a qualified academic or an experienced professional in the subject, and the guide’s signed bio-data goes with the proposal. Read the eligibility paragraph in your guideline first. If you are not sure whether your choice qualifies, HelpBooks mentors will check it against the guideline with you before you post anything.
Choosing a text for your translation project
“Translation of Sindhi literature”
“Translation of selected Sindhi short stories of one writer into Hindi, with a note on cultural terms and how they were handled”
A good translation project is narrow, built on a text you can read closely, and clear about the problems you expect to meet. Areas that work well:
- Short stories: a small set of stories by one Sindhi or Hindi writer
- Essays and non-fiction: essays on culture, history or society
- Folk tales and oral literature: tales and sayings, with attention to idiom
- Poetry: a limited selection, with a note on form and sound
- Administrative or media texts: notices, reports or news items, if your guideline allows non-literary texts
Check that the text is permitted under your guideline, including any rule on copyright or length. This is the first thing our mentors look at when they suggest texts.
MTTP-004 proposal format
The exact headings and the proforma are given in the project guideline, so follow that document. A translation project proposal in IGNOU normally covers these points:
- Title and the text chosen, with author and source
- Reason for choosing it
- Language pair and direction of translation
- Plan and method of translation
- Expected problems, such as idiom, culture-specific words and style
The proforma and the guide’s details must be filled and signed as the guideline asks. Do not start the full project before the proposal is approved.
MTTP-004 project structure
After approval, the project is built on the text and plan that were approved. A usual plan is:
- Introduction to the author, text and the reason for translation
- The translation itself, with the source text matched to it
- A translator’s note or analysis of the problems faced and the strategies used
- Bibliography and any glossary
Check your guideline for the required length, format and the documents to bind in, which usually include the approved proposal and an originality certificate.
HelpBooks mentors help you turn your approved proposal into a complete MTTP-004 project with a careful translation, a clear translator’s note, and a final documents check before you submit. WhatsApp us on 8800002552
Why MTTP-004 proposals and reports come back
- Forms not signed or dated by the student or the guide
- Guide who does not meet the eligibility in the guideline
- Text too long, not permitted, or not suited to the language pair
- Project that changes the text or plan from the approved proposal
- Approved proposal or certificate missing from the bound copy
- Translation that is word for word, with no discussion of problems and choices
- Copied material in the introduction or analysis
- Submission sent to the wrong office
If your proposal is returned: revise it using the evaluator’s comments and resubmit as your guideline directs, quoting your proposal number if one was given. Our mentors can rework a returned proposal using the evaluator’s comments.
How HelpBooks mentors PGDSHST learners
Most learners who reach us have one of three problems: they cannot settle on a text, their proposal has come back once, or they have approval but do not know how to write the translator’s note. Our mentors stay with you through the whole MTTP-004 journey:
- Workable text and topic options based on your interests and language strengths, to discuss with your guide
- Proposal drafted with you in the format your guideline asks for, with the proforma checked line by line
- Help with revisions if the evaluator returns your proposal
- After approval, support in building the full project on your approved proposal, with original writing and a plagiarism check
- A final check of the certificate, attachments and envelope before you submit
- Support until your result is declared, including any changes the evaluator asks for
