MTTMP-119 is the dissertation course of the IGNOU Master of Tourism and Travel Management (MTTM) programme. It carries 8 credits and sits in the fourth semester. IGNOU describes it as independent study of the tourism and hospitality sector, where you apply theory, research methods and analysis to a real-world tourism issue. The work usually runs in two parts: a synopsis (proposal) that is approved first, and then the dissertation based on that approved synopsis.

Who can be your MTTMP-119 guide?
The guide eligibility for this dissertation is set in the official MTTM project guideline, and we have not quoted it here because it may change. In IGNOU projects the guide is normally a qualified academic or an experienced professional in the subject, and the guide’s signed bio-data goes with the synopsis. Read the eligibility paragraph in your guideline first. If you are not sure whether your choice qualifies, HelpBooks mentors will check it against the guideline with you before you post anything.
Choosing an MTTM dissertation topic
“A study of tourism in India”
“Tourist satisfaction with homestay services in Kasol, Himachal Pradesh”
A good MTTMP-119 topic is narrow, tied to one destination, business or organisation, and answerable with data you can collect yourself. Areas that suit the MTTM subjects:
- Destination management: visitor satisfaction, carrying capacity or facilities at a specific destination
- Heritage and cultural tourism: tourist awareness and local community role at a heritage site
- Digital marketing and content: use of social media by hotels, homestays or travel agents in your city
- Tourism business and entrepreneurship: challenges of small travel agencies or homestay owners
- MICE and events: planning and service quality at conferences or events in one city
If you work in travel, hotels or an airline, a topic linked to your own workplace makes data collection much easier. This is the first thing our mentors look at when they suggest topics.
MTTMP-119 synopsis format
The exact synopsis headings and the proforma are given in the MTTM project guideline, so follow that document. A dissertation synopsis in IGNOU normally covers these points:
- Title and introduction to the problem
- Rationale and objectives
- Review of literature
- Research methodology: study area, sample, tools and analysis methods
- Expected outcomes and limitations
The proforma and the guide’s details must be filled and signed as the guideline asks. Do not start the full dissertation before the synopsis is approved.
MTTMP-119 dissertation structure
After approval, the dissertation is built on the same topic, objectives, sample and study area. A usual chapter plan is:
- Introduction
- Review of literature
- Research methodology
- Data analysis and discussion, with each table or chart followed by its interpretation
- Findings, conclusion and suggestions
- References and annexures such as the questionnaire
Check your guideline for the required page length, referencing style and the documents to bind in, which usually include the approved synopsis and an originality certificate.
HelpBooks mentors help you turn your approved synopsis into a complete MTTMP-119 dissertation with your own study data, proper tables and interpretation, and a final documents check before you submit. WhatsApp us on 8800002552
Why MTTMP-119 proposals and reports come back
- Forms not signed or dated by the student or the guide
- Guide who does not meet the eligibility in the guideline
- Topic too wide, or not related to tourism and hospitality
- Objectives that the methodology cannot answer
- Dissertation that changes the topic, sample or study area from the approved synopsis
- Approved synopsis or certificate missing from the bound copy
- Copied literature review or theory
- Submission sent to the wrong office
If your synopsis is returned: revise it using the evaluator’s comments and resubmit as your guideline directs, quoting your synopsis number if one was given. Our mentors can rework a returned synopsis using the evaluator’s comments.
How HelpBooks mentors MTTM learners
Most learners who reach us have one of three problems: they cannot settle on a topic, their synopsis has come back once, or they have approval but do not know how to turn data into a full dissertation. Our mentors stay with you through the whole MTTMP-119 journey:
- 5–6 workable topic options based on your job, organisation and city, to discuss with your guide
- Synopsis drafted with you in the format your guideline asks for, with the proforma checked line by line
- Help with revisions if the evaluator returns your synopsis
- After approval, support in building the full dissertation on your approved synopsis, with original writing, your own study data and a plagiarism check
- A final check of the certificate, attachments and envelope before you submit
- Support until your result is declared, including any changes the evaluator asks for
