MRWP-002 is the Major Project of the IGNOU M.Sc Renewable Energy and Environment (MSCRWEE) programme. It carries 12 credits and is placed in the fourth semester of the second year, which makes it the biggest single course in the degree. The work runs in two parts: a synopsis that must be approved, and then the full project report built on it.

Who can be your MRWP-002 guide?

The guide qualifications, and the forms that carry the guide’s details, are set in your MSCRWEE project guideline, so check it before you ask anyone to guide you. In general, IGNOU expects a guide who is qualified in the subject and has relevant experience, and who signs the synopsis and the final report. HelpBooks can check your guide’s details against the guideline before you submit.

Choosing an MRWP-002 topic

Too broad
“Future of solar energy in India”
Approvable
“Techno-economic assessment of a 10 kW rooftop solar system for a college campus in one city, using one year of electricity bills”

A major project has more room than a minor one, but it still needs a clear question and data you can really get. Some areas that work well:

  • Solar PV and thermal: design, performance or cost study of a system you can access
  • Bioenergy: biogas, briquettes or bio-waste use in a village or institution
  • Wind and hybrid systems: resource data and feasibility for a defined site
  • Energy conservation: energy audit of a building or small industry, with savings and payback
  • Environment and climate: carbon footprint, air or water quality linked to energy use in your area

If you work in an energy or industrial setting, a topic from your own workplace makes data collection far easier. This is also the first thing our mentors look at when they suggest topics.

MRWP-002 synopsis format

Follow the proforma and sections in your MSCRWEE project guideline. A synopsis for a major project usually covers:

  • Title and introduction to the problem
  • Rationale and objectives
  • Review of earlier work
  • Methodology: site or unit, data, instruments or software, analysis
  • Work plan and expected outcome
  • Limitations and references

The proforma, signatures and guide details asked for in the guideline go along with the synopsis. Keep a copy of everything you post.

MRWP-002 project report structure

After approval, the report is built on the same topic, objectives and method that were approved. It normally covers:

  • Introduction
  • Literature review
  • Objectives and methodology
  • Results and discussion, with tables and figures each followed by its explanation
  • Conclusion and recommendations
  • Scope for further work
  • References and appendices

The bound report must also include the approved synopsis and the certificates or declaration forms listed in your guideline, along with the fee receipt where asked.

Got your approval? Let us help you finish the report.
HelpBooks mentors help you turn your approved synopsis into a complete MRWP-002 report with your own data, proper tables and figures with interpretation, and a final annexure check before you post it. WhatsApp us on 8800002552

Why MRWP-002 proposals and reports come back

  • Proforma not signed or dated by the student or the guide
  • Guide who does not meet the guideline requirements
  • Topic too wide, or not linked to renewable energy or the environment
  • Objectives that the method cannot answer
  • Report that changes the topic or method from the approved synopsis
  • Approved synopsis or certificate missing from the bound report
  • Copied literature review or theory
  • Report sent to the wrong office

If your synopsis is not approved: revise it using the evaluator’s comments and resubmit as your guideline directs, with your proposal reference number. Our mentors can rework a returned synopsis using those comments.

How HelpBooks mentors MSCRWEE learners

Most learners who reach us have one of three problems: they cannot settle on a topic, their synopsis has come back once, or they have approval but do not know how to turn data into a full report. Our mentors stay with you through the whole MRWP-002 journey, from the first topic list to the day your marks appear:

  • 5–6 workable topic options based on your job, organisation and city, to discuss with your guide
  • Synopsis drafted with you in the format of your guideline, with the proforma checked line by line before you post it
  • Help with revisions if the evaluator returns your synopsis
  • After approval, support in building the full report on your approved synopsis, with original writing, your own data and a plagiarism check
  • A final check of the annexures, certificates and envelope before you send it
  • Support until your result is declared, including any changes the evaluator asks for

Common questions

Is MRWP-002 compulsory?
It is the Major Project of the MSCRWEE programme and carries 12 credits, so it is part of the programme structure.

When is MRWP-002 done?
It is placed in the fourth semester, but start the topic and guide search early, because the synopsis needs approval first.

Is there a viva?
Check your MSCRWEE project guideline. If a viva is held, you need to know your own data and method well, so work with your report, not just submit it.

Can HelpBooks help if I have already started?
Yes. Many learners come to us after a returned synopsis or with approval in hand. Share what you have, and we pick up from that stage.
