MRWP-001 is the Industrial Training / Minor Project course of the IGNOU M.Sc Renewable Energy and Environment (MSCRWEE) programme. It carries 6 credits and is placed in the second semester of the first year. It is the smaller of the two project courses of the programme; the larger one is the Major Project, MRWP-002, in the fourth semester.

Who can be your MRWP-001 guide?
The guide qualifications, and the forms that carry the guide’s details, are set in your MSCRWEE project guideline, so check it before you ask anyone to guide you. In general, IGNOU expects a guide who is qualified in the subject and has relevant experience, and who signs the synopsis and the final report. HelpBooks can check your guide’s details against the guideline before you submit.
Choosing an MRWP-001 topic
“Renewable energy in India”
“Performance of rooftop solar PV systems installed in schools of one district: generation, maintenance problems and payback”
A good minor project is narrow, measurable and possible with the access you have. Some areas that work well:
- Solar energy: rooftop PV or solar water heaters in homes, schools or small units
- Biomass and biogas: household biogas plants or use of crop residue in your area
- Wind and small hydro: site data and feasibility for a small installation
- Energy audit and efficiency: energy use of a building, workshop or institution, with saving options
- Environmental impact: emissions, waste or water quality linked to an energy activity near you
If you work in an energy or industrial setting, a topic from your own workplace makes data collection far easier. This is also the first thing our mentors look at when they suggest topics.
MRWP-001 synopsis format
Follow the proforma and sections in your MSCRWEE project guideline. A synopsis for a technical project usually covers:
- Title and introduction to the problem
- Objectives
- Review of earlier work
- Methodology: site or unit, data, instruments or tools, analysis
- Expected outcome and plan of work
- References
The proforma, signatures and guide details asked for in the guideline go along with the synopsis. Keep a copy of everything you post.
MRWP-001 project report structure
After approval, the report is built on the same topic and method that were approved. It normally covers:
- Introduction and objectives
- Literature review
- Methodology
- Results and discussion, with tables and figures each followed by its explanation
- Conclusion and recommendations
- References
- Appendices such as data sheets or questionnaires
The bound report must also include the approved synopsis and the certificates or declaration forms listed in your guideline, along with the fee receipt where asked.
HelpBooks mentors help you turn your approved synopsis into a complete MRWP-001 report with your own data, proper tables and figures with interpretation, and a final annexure check before you post it. WhatsApp us on 8800002552
Why MRWP-001 proposals and reports come back
- Proforma not signed or dated by the student or the guide
- Guide who does not meet the guideline requirements
- Topic too wide, or not linked to renewable energy or the environment
- Objectives that the method cannot answer
- Report that changes the topic or method from the approved synopsis
- Approved synopsis or certificate missing from the bound report
- Copied literature review or theory
- Report sent to the wrong office
If your synopsis is not approved: revise it using the evaluator’s comments and resubmit as your guideline directs, with your proposal reference number. Our mentors can rework a returned synopsis using those comments.
How HelpBooks mentors MSCRWEE learners
Most learners who reach us have one of three problems: they cannot settle on a topic, their synopsis has come back once, or they have approval but do not know how to turn data into a report. Our mentors stay with you through the whole MRWP-001 journey, from the first topic list to the day your marks appear:
- 5–6 workable topic options based on your job, organisation and city, to discuss with your guide
- Synopsis drafted with you in the format of your guideline, with the proforma checked line by line before you post it
- Help with revisions if the evaluator returns your synopsis
- After approval, support in building the full report on your approved synopsis, with original writing, your own data and a plagiarism check
- A final check of the annexures, certificates and envelope before you send it
- Support until your result is declared, including any changes the evaluator asks for
