MISP-021 is the Project course of the IGNOU M.Sc Industrial Safety (MSCIDS) programme. The IGNOU programme page lists it as a 6-credit project in semester 1 and links an official MISP-021 project manual for MSCIDS 2026. That manual is the document that decides forms, format and addresses, so read it alongside this page.

Who can be your MISP-021 guide?

Guide eligibility is given in the MISP-021 project manual. Read it before you approach anyone, because a guide who does not meet the condition is a common reason for a synopsis to come back. HelpBooks can check your proposed guide against the manual before you submit.

Choosing an industrial safety project topic

Too broad
“Safety in Indian industries”
Approvable
“Awareness and use of personal protective equipment among workers of a foundry unit in Ludhiana”

A good topic is narrow, tied to one workplace or process, and possible for you to study with permission. Some areas that work well:

  • Hazard identification: hazard identification and risk assessment of a department or process
  • Accident analysis: causes and patterns of accidents using plant records
  • Safe work practices: PPE use, permit-to-work, safety training effectiveness
  • Fire and emergency: fire safety audit, emergency preparedness of a facility
  • Occupational health: ergonomics, noise exposure or chemical handling in a workplace

If you work in an industry, choose a topic from your own unit. Written permission to collect data is the first thing our mentors ask about.

MISP-021 synopsis format

Use the format and proforma given in the project manual. If it leaves the outline open, a safety project synopsis normally carries:

  • Title and introduction to the problem
  • Rationale of the study
  • Review of literature
  • Objectives
  • Study site, sample, tools and data collection plan
  • Analysis plan
  • Limitations and references

MISP-021 project report structure

The report follows the approved synopsis. A usual layout is:

  • Title page, certificate and declaration
  • Introduction
  • Review of literature
  • Methodology
  • Findings and discussion with tables and charts
  • Conclusion and recommendations
  • References and annexures (checklists, questionnaire, permission letter)

Attach the approved synopsis and the certificates the manual asks for. Length and binding rules are in the manual.

Got your approval? Let us help you finish the report.
HelpBooks mentors help you turn your approved synopsis into a complete MISP-021 report with your own site data, tables and interpretation, and a final check of the annexures before you submit. WhatsApp us on 8800002552

Why MISP-021 synopses and reports come back

  • Guide outside the eligibility given in the manual
  • Proforma or certificates unsigned or undated
  • Topic too wide, or without a defined workplace or process
  • Objectives that the tools cannot answer
  • Report that changes the topic, site or sample from the approved synopsis
  • Permission from the organisation missing
  • Copied literature review or standards text
  • Report sent to the wrong office

If your synopsis is returned: revise it using the evaluator's comments and send it again as the manual directs. Our mentors can rework a returned synopsis using those comments.

How HelpBooks mentors MSCIDS learners

Most learners who reach us have one of three problems: they cannot settle on a topic, their synopsis has come back once, or they have approval but do not know how to turn site data into a report. Our mentors stay with you through the whole MISP-021 journey, from the first topic list to the day your marks appear:

  • 5–6 workable topic options based on your job, site and city, to discuss with your guide
  • Synopsis drafted with you in the manual's format, with the proforma checked line by line before you post it
  • Help with revisions if the evaluator returns your synopsis
  • After approval, support in building the full report on your approved synopsis, with original writing, your own data and a plagiarism check
  • A final check of certificates, annexures and envelope before you submit
  • Support until your result is declared, including any changes the evaluator asks for
