MGSP-002 field project? HelpBooks will guide you from topic to marks
Our project mentors have worked with IGNOU postgraduate learners on proposals and reports. You get one team that stays with you through every stage:
- Topic options based on your job, organisation and city
- Project proposal drafted with you, with the proforma and guide details checked before submission
- Full field project report support on your approved proposal, original and plagiarism-checked
- Help with revisions until your result is declared
MGSP-002 is listed on the IGNOU programme page of the MA Gender and Development Studies (MAGD) as Internship-II / Field based Research Project-II. It is a 4-credit project course of the first year. Instead of an examination, your marks come entirely from the report you submit.

Who can be your MGSP-002 guide?
The IGNOU programme page does not list guide eligibility for this course. Check the guide or supervisor conditions in your MAGD programme guideline, or ask the programme coordinators. HelpBooks can check whether your proposed guide meets the condition before you submit anything.
Choosing an MAGD field project topic
“Women empowerment in India”
“Participation of women in Self Help Groups and its effect on household decision-making in two villages of Sitapur district”
A good field project topic is narrow, based on people you can actually meet, and tied to a gender or development question. Some areas that work well:
- Livelihood and SHGs: women's microenterprise, access to credit, MGNREGA work participation
- Health and nutrition: maternal health services, anganwadi use, adolescent girls' awareness
- Education: school dropout among girls, digital access in rural households
- Violence and safety: awareness of domestic violence law, workplace complaint committees
- Political participation: women representatives in panchayats, voting awareness
Choose a place and group you can reach easily. A topic linked to your own work or locality makes field work far smoother.
MGSP-002 proposal format
Use the proposal format and proforma given in your MAGD project handbook. If it does not prescribe one, a field project proposal normally carries:
- Title and background of the issue
- Rationale of the study
- Review of related literature
- Objectives
- Study area, respondents and sampling
- Tools and method of data collection
- Ethical points such as consent and privacy of respondents
- Limitations and references
MGSP-002 report structure
Your report should follow the approved plan and your handbook. A usual field report covers:
- Title page, certificate and declaration
- Introduction and rationale
- Review of literature
- Objectives and methodology
- Findings and discussion with tables or case boxes
- Summary, conclusion and suggestions
- References and annexures (questionnaire or interview guide)
Since the whole mark comes from the report, attach every certificate and annexure your handbook asks for.
HelpBooks mentors help you turn your approved proposal into a complete MGSP-002 field project report with your own field data, tables and interpretation, and a final check of the certificates before you submit. WhatsApp us on 8800002552
Why MGSP-002 proposals and reports come back
- Guide or supervisor outside the eligibility given in the guideline
- Forms or certificates unsigned or undated
- Topic too wide, or not linked to gender and development
- Objectives that the field tools cannot answer
- Report that changes the topic or study area from the approved plan
- Respondent details or consent missing
- Copied literature review or findings
- Report sent to the wrong office
If your proposal is returned: revise it using the comments you receive and send it again as your handbook directs. Our mentors can rework a returned proposal using those comments.
How HelpBooks mentors MAGD learners
Most learners who reach us have one of three problems: they cannot settle on a topic, their proposal has come back once, or the field work is done but the report is not taking shape. Our mentors stay with you through the whole MGSP-002 journey, from the first topic list to the day your marks appear:
- 5–6 workable topic options based on your job, organisation and place, to discuss with your guide
- Proposal drafted with you in the format your handbook asks for, with the proforma checked line by line
- Help with revisions if the proposal is returned
- Support in building the full report on your approved plan, with original writing, your own field data and a plagiarism check
- A final check of certificates, annexures and envelope before you submit
- Support until your result is declared, including any changes the evaluator asks for

Common questions
How many credits is MGSP-002?
The IGNOU programme page lists it as a 4-credit project course.
How are the marks decided?
The programme page says 100% weightage is given to the report or project report you submit. There is no separate assignment or theory paper for it.
Is MGSP-002 different from MGSP-001?
They are separate courses. MGSP-001 is the first internship / field based research project and MGSP-002 is the second. Read your handbook for what each one needs.
Whom do I ask about guide and submission rules?
Your MAGD project handbook, your study centre, or the programme coordinators named on the IGNOU MAGD programme page.
Can HelpBooks help if I have already started?
Yes. Many learners come to us after a returned proposal or with field data in hand. Share what you have, and we pick up from that stage.
HelpBooks is an independent academic support service and is not affiliated with IGNOU. Rules on this page are summarised from the IGNOU MAGD programme page; always follow the latest official guideline and your guide's instructions.
