MEDSP-051 is the course “Project Work in CSR” of the IGNOU MA Corporate Social Responsibility (MACSR) programme, which is also used by the PG Diploma in CSR (PGDCSR). IGNOU lists it as an 8-credit course. Like other IGNOU projects, it runs in two parts: first a project proposal that has to be approved, and then a project report based on that approved proposal.

Who can be your MEDSP-051 guide?

IGNOU sets conditions on who can guide a project, such as qualification and years of experience, and they are written in your programme’s project handbook. We have not quoted them here because they differ between schools and sessions. A guide who does not meet the conditions is one of the common reasons a proposal is sent back. Before you ask someone to sign your proforma, share their qualifications and experience with our mentors and we will check them against the handbook.

Choosing an MEDSP-051 project topic

Too broad
“CSR in India”
Approvable
“Community perception of the CSR health and education activities of an industrial unit in villages of one block of your district”

A good MEDSP-051 topic is narrow, tied to CSR, and possible for you to study with the time and contacts you have. Some areas that work well:

  • CSR in education and health: reach and use of a company programme in nearby villages
  • CSR spending: sector-wise spending of a listed company over a few years, from its annual reports
  • Employee volunteering: participation and attitude of staff in an organisation
  • Environment and sustainability: a company’s plantation, water or waste initiative
  • NGO and company partnership: how a local NGO carries out a funded project

If you are working, a topic linked to your own organisation or city makes data collection far easier. This is also the first thing our mentors look at when they suggest topics to a CSR learner.

MEDSP-051 proposal format

IGNOU project proposals usually cover the parts below. Check your handbook for the exact headings and page limit:

  • Title
  • Introduction and rationale
  • Objectives
  • Review of literature
  • Research methodology: locale, sample, tools, data collection and analysis
  • Limitations
  • References

The proposal goes with the proforma signed and dated by you and your guide. If the evaluator returns it, you revise and resend with the comments.

MEDSP-051 project report structure

After approval, the report is built on the same topic, objectives, sample and location that were approved. It normally covers:

  • Introduction
  • Review of literature
  • Research methodology
  • Results and discussion, with tables and charts each followed by its interpretation
  • Conclusion, limitations and suggestions
  • References
  • Annexures such as the questionnaire

The bound report also carries the approved proposal and the originality certificate signed by you and your guide. Your handbook gives the exact list.

HelpBooks mentors help you turn your approved proposal into a complete MEDSP-051 report with your own study data, proper tables and interpretation, and a final annexure check before you post it. WhatsApp us on 8800002552

Why MEDSP-051 proposals and reports come back

  • Proforma not signed or dated by the student and the guide
  • Guide outside the eligibility conditions
  • Topic too wide, or not related to CSR
  • Objectives that the methodology cannot answer
  • Report that changes the topic, sample or study area from the approved proposal
  • Approved proposal or originality certificate missing from the bound report
  • Copied literature review or theory
  • Report sent to the wrong office

If your proposal is not approved: send a revised proposal as your handbook directs, with the evaluator’s comments and your proposal number. Our mentors can rework a returned proposal using the evaluator’s comments.

How HelpBooks mentors CSR learners

Most learners who reach us have one of three problems: they cannot settle on a topic, their proposal has come back once, or they have approval but do not know how to turn data into a full report. Our mentors stay with you through the whole MEDSP-051 journey, from the first topic list to the day your marks appear:

  • 5–6 workable topic options based on your job, organisation and city, to discuss with your guide
  • Proposal drafted with you in the format your handbook asks for, with the proforma checked line by line before you post it
  • Help with revisions if the evaluator returns your proposal
  • After approval, support in building the full report on your approved proposal, with original writing, your own study data and a plagiarism check
  • A final check of the annexures, certificate and envelope before you send it
  • Support until your result is declared, including any changes the evaluator asks for
