Developed in collaboration with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), GOI, this program seeks to enhance India’s capability to meet global food safety and quality requirements and ensure consumer safety. Key objectives of the program include:
- Comprehending issues of safety and quality in food production, handling, processing, and trade
- Building technical proficiency in food safety and quality assurance in the food processing chain
- Ensuring safety and quality of food products as per legal requirements and voluntary standards
- Designing and implementing Good Hygienic Practices (GHP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, Quality Management Systems (QMS), Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS), Laboratory Management Systems, and Retail Standards
- Effectively planning, conducting, reporting, and auditing as per ISO guidelines
- Undertaking standard microbiological and chemical analysis of food products
- Applying good practices in food processing, hospitality industry, and retail outlets

Eligibility:
- Graduation in Science with Chemistry/Bio-Chemistry or Microbiology as one of the subjects.
- Degree in allied sciences like Agriculture, Food Science, Food Technology, Post Harvest Technology, Engineering, Home Science, Life Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Horticulture, Dairy Technology, Veterinary, Fisheries, Hotel Management, and Catering, or equivalent.
- Science graduates in disciplines like Geography, Statistics with Physics & Maths, Art Subjects, and Medical Lab Technology with minimum three years experience in food processing and/or quality control.
- Arts/Commerce graduates with a diploma in food science/hotel management disciplines with minimum five years experience in food processing/quality control/hotel management and at least two years in quality control activities.
- BA/B.Com graduates with minimum seven years experience in food processing/quality control/hotel management or holding a senior position in Government/Semi-Government units involved in food quality control.
